Michael Meredith is an award-winning chef, renowned for his fine dining cuisine and charitable works.
Michael’s restaurant Mr Morris in Auckland's Britomart uses local, sustainable and seasonal produce to create a modern Pacific and New Zealand experience. In its first year, Mr Morris won Viva’s Best Restaurant in Auckland award.
Michael Meredith’s first restaurant in Auckland, Meredith’s, was the go-to destination for innovative dining for a decade. In 2011, Meredith’s was awarded supreme winner of the Cuisine Restaurant of the Year Awards, the only national restaurant competition at the time. Meredith’s dine-by-donation evenings raised more than $340,000 for various charities.
Michael was also the co-founder of Eat My Lunch, an organisation providing meals to pupils in low-decile schools, and consultant chef for Air New Zealand. He grew up in Samoa until moving to Aotearoa at 12 years old, and is a strong supporter of the Fred Hollows Foundation, which works to end avoidable blindness in the Pacific.
